Choreography
To be able to create beauty of movement in others is something is not only a joy but an honor. I love to showcase not only the skills of my dancers, but their potential as well. It is important to me that they feel invested in the story that I'm asking them to tell.
"Trying to Find You Again"
Ballet Joyeux Spring Concert
Spring 2023
In Spring of 2023, I was a student choreographer for the Ballet Joyeaux’s Spring Concert. I chose to choreograph my piece, “Trying to Find You Again”, to Liana Flores’s “Rises the Moon”. It was a tribute to those who have struggled with the grief of losing a partner. The story follows a young woman struggling with the pain of losing their love. Throughout the piece, she goes through a continuous loop of grieving, while being forced to suppress her feelings. That is until she finds someone who accepts her grief and at long last finds harmony with a shared heart.
Being able to work with these talented dancers was such an honor, as they truly loved the piece and poured their hearts and souls into the performance.
